The Forest Archive
This album is inspired by the Songs of Ascent, found in Psalms 120-134. Traditionally sung by pilgrims as they journeyed toward the holy city of Jerusalem, these ancient psalms are rich with themes of longing and belonging, of cities flourishing like gardens, of gratitude, patient expectation, and the joy of finally finding a place to call home.

For the last couple years, these simple, often repetitive psalms have nourished me, and now I’m delighted to be able to share their fruit with you and your community. Wherever you may call home, I hope this music encourages and strengthens you in the holy work of loving your place and all with whom you share it. And “may the lives you seed be a garden green, that there be peace in this land.”
